Labor market and policies promoting economic growth

The research area consists of two main theme clusters: labour markets research and challenges for economic growth. Most studies deal with the effects and the effectiveness of implemented and planned public policies. Current labor economics topics include the effects of immigration policies, questions related to unemployment compensation systems, pension reforms, wage subsidies and active labor market policies. Empirical research relies heavily on large register-based micro data sources. Research on challenges for economic growth focuses on environmental and energy policy. Current topics include instrumentation of climate and energy policies, sustainable consumption. Other themes include innovation policies and issues related to the housing markets.
